The Tong and Fulneck Valley is one of the last remaining local areas where you can walk, exercise and observe wildlife and the natural world so close to the urban sprawl of SW Leeds and SE Bradford. Having worked on the Holmewood Estate for 25 years I am well aware of the problems encountered with having such a large area of housing in one place. The estate is plagued with crime and anti-social behaviour and despite many initiatives and interventions undertaken by the Council over the years the problems still exist. Increasing the volume of housing so close to the estate will only increase these problems.

As well, the traffic congestion on Westgate Hill Street and Tong Street is well known by the Council and the building of a new road, as well as being very detrimental to the wildlife in this area, would also increase the very poor air pollution experienced already and congestion would increase on the A650.

At a time when everyone has a responsibility to help climate change this seems to be in direct contradiction to the Council's "green" policies.

I also object on the increase in traffic this development will produce for the whole area, Tyersal, Pudsey and surrounding areas. Further increasing pollution, emissions and noise. This whole development goes against the immediate and current threat of climate change. Green belts should NOT be used for development in the current climate crisis, Alternative brown areas should all be explored first..

Area is biodiverse and home to hundreds of threatened species. No assessment of the impact of development on the environment, especially on ancient woodland at Black Carr and Kit Woods. Building in it would be an ecological disaster.
Development will lead to flooding further down the valley. Flood risk assessment is vital.
EXTENDING AN AREA THAT NEEDS A FULL REDEVELOPMENT ANYWAY This area is in need to being upgraded, it’s a well known “bad area”
