Representation Summary:

SP 13 Waste management is a key part of Local Authority responsibility and alongside identifying sites for management, we ought to review policies for collection with a view to reducing the amount that is merely dumped in our countryside. The other aspect is a national one of getting manufacturers to take responsibility for their products.

Respondent: Bradford District Ward Councillor (Labour)

Representation Summary:

SP 14 Another small but potentially exciting area. This is the bit people want to know about – what is happening to make great places to live? Another sales pitch needed. To say the population will be a little sceptical is an understatement. There is no evidence of it at all in Keighley.

Consultation Question 16

Representation ID: 9808

Received: 12/03/2021

Respondent: Bradford District Ward Councillor (Labour)

Representation Summary:

SP 15 Under section B8 you talk about growing crops. One of the notable features of housing developments is the removal of the topsoil leaving poor quality gardens. There SP 15 No. 8 Discusses growing crops. There should be a requirement for housing developers to replace topsoil and ensure that the underlying earth is suitable for cultivation. Too often areas round houses consist of builders rubble with a bit of turf stuck over the top. When compared to our former Council House stock, this is abysmal.

EC 4 I would like to comment on Local shops (for Local People!). I feel that this should be encouraged to reduce the need to travel to Town centres. They are particularly helpful to the elderly and disabled.

Consultation Question 22

Representation ID: 9811

Received: 12/03/2021

Respondent: Bradford District Ward Councillor (Labour)

Representation Summary:

TR1 Bus lanes etc. are discussed here. This is particularly problematic through Bradford with the continually changing road priority and right turns etc. This is currently a nightmare for the ordinary motorist to follow. If you have a bus lane to your left and a large number of vehicles turning right at a junction the road can be blocked when there are high volumes of traffic. It is one of the causes of traffic jams and excessive pollution during peak hours.

Consultation Question 25

Representation ID: 9812

Received: 12/03/2021

Respondent: Bradford District Ward Councillor (Labour)

Representation Summary:

TR4 Having leisure as a n objective is highly laudable. I am not quite sure what this will mean. Our main asset is our countryside and bus (even train) support of countryside access would be highly advantageous in improving access. Encouraging bus operators to allow cross ticketing between companies would help this and identifying destinations as countryside access sites would help.

Respondent: Bradford District Ward Councillor (Labour)

Representation Summary:

HO 9 Housing standards. Always disappointing. New houses are too small in terms of room size. Are there to be stipulations round insulation, energy use, quality of gardens etc. Is it time to specify heat pumps or are we too soon?
