-This greenfield site provides vital access to open space for local residents. The space has been actively used by residents of all ages for generations.
-Council support has included a temporary play pod scheme (2010 for 2 years) to support children's play in this area.
-The land is surrounded by housing with little to no garden space (terraced houses with yards, flats, houses in multiple occupancy).
-The map shows we are a deprived area. We need this space. It has been essential for outdoor activity during COVID. Parks are too far away for elderly & young children's play.
-Site has been used for other community activities.
-Site provides visual amenity and sporting and recreation function - overlook in the Open Space Audit.
