Draft Bradford District Local Plan - Preferred Options (Regulation 18) February 2021

Representation ID: 1337

Received: 12/03/2021

Respondent: Ms Mel Frances

Representation Summary:

This is vital recreational ground for families, in particular those with children living in the flats. Residents have wanted to make the most of this space for many years with play equipment etc but these ideas have always been rejected if they were permanent, due to it being earmarked for future building. This means that residents use the space as often as they can but have been prevented from evolving some of it into more structured areas such as play / food growing / sensory garden / seating etc etc.
People without gardens of their own need spaces such as this for exercise and for their mental health and wellbeing - surely there is enough evidence for this now with lockdowns etc. The council need to do the right thing and create a community green space with the residents and show you care.
