This is valued open space used by the whole community. Children play regularly here and would have nowhere else to play. Many houses in this neighbourhood have no gardens and parks are a long way off with busy roads to cross. Green space helps against air pollution. This is already an area shown to lack green space. Generations of families have used this green space and it needs to be protected for future generations so why destroy the play and recreation space for the sake of meeting only 5% of the Shipley quota of new housing.
