Draft Bradford District Local Plan - Preferred Options (Regulation 18) February 2021

Representation ID: 1665

Received: 15/03/2021

Respondent: Ms Alex Peel

Representation Summary:

This is important green space for residents in a densely populated area - many of whom have no gardens or just small back yards. We use it to exercise, sit in the sun, walk dogs, let children run around or just enjoy nature. I've seen over 30 different types of birds on the green and there are mature beech and cherry trees on the sides. The pandemic has shown us that local green space is vitally important to people's wellbeing. and the green space has been a lifeline to many of us during lockdown as it has been over the years to many residents.
Without local green spaces people will get in their cars and drive to exercise, walk dogs etc which will add yet more pollution to roads which are well-known for being some of the worst in the district.
