Draft Bradford District Local Plan - Preferred Options (Regulation 18) February 2021

Representation ID: 1744

Received: 16/03/2021

Respondent: Mr John Pamment

Representation Summary:

On the map the area designated for 20 houses looks slightly smaller than that occupied by Crossfield Road which has 11 houses in all. If development did take place 10/11 houses would reflect the existing housing in the area.
The extra traffic from residents delivery vans etc. will cause a deterioration in the environment for present residents of Crossfield Road and more crowding in the village. Local buses are already frequently held up by parking outside the Coop.
Given the rapid changes in the economy more existing built sites are likely to be available for housing and building on greenfield sites should be resisted.
The Council’s own Draft Plan refers to ‘a major adverse effect has been predicted for the climate change resilience SA Objective’ and ‘Minor positive effects’. This hardly seems to be a good basis for using this site.
