I object to developing SH3/H and believe it should be designated as amenity green space. The land is used for a variety of recreation purposes and has been for over 50 years. The council’s own policies indicate that land previously identified as Recreation Open Space, like this, should be protected from development; they also show the benefits of such space to the community, especially for those dwellings nearby without gardens. Shipley already has a deficiency of this kind of space, which would be exacerbated by development. None of the exceptions for removing green space in the Local Plan applies to this site or to a proposed development of it.
