Objection is based upon the inability of Bingley Road to cope with the current volume of traffic. It is already difficult to exit and enter Branksome Drive at the junction of Bingley Road and the likelihood of increased traffic would make an already risky junction even more dangerous. The amount of previous traffic accidents on Bingley Road has increased dramatically in a short space of time.
The heightened flood risk, with previous flooding occurring within the last few years at the bottom of Branksome Drive, is an indicator that building more houses within this flood plane would only heighten the prospects of homeowners having to deal with the misery of the River Aire bursting its banks and flooding.
