I grew up very nearby and I used regularly to play on and have picnic on this field. This is a vitally important and well-used green space at the heart of Shipley, which is quite far from other large green spaces such as Northcliffe or Roberts Park. There are lots of flats nearby and small terraces without gardens and this is a place where residents can unwind and exercise, particularly during lockdown. The amount of green space is what makes Shipley such a great place to grow up in and it would be a huge shame to lose that.
