Draft Bradford District Local Plan - Preferred Options (Regulation 18) February 2021

Representation ID: 3004

Received: 21/03/2021

Respondent: Mrs Shirley Green

Representation Summary:

It is of paramount importance that any green space in the area is maintained to enable the bridging of habitat populations that are being fragmented by the development of housing, roads and associated infrastructure.
The larger these corridors the more effective they will be increasing bio diversity.
The current green areas have provided a vital support for the mental and physical well-being of local residents during COVID restrictions. It is vital to maintain the footpaths and bridle ways that traverse the area as they provide safe recreational opportunities and help mitigate the negative effects of the city environment.
The green spaces help offset the environmental impact of the large number of developments, improve urban ventilation and and make help in the fight against climate change.
Rather than taking the green space in Wrose, Idle and Thackley for developments, the green space should be developed and boosted!
