The proposed density is 16.9 dwellings per hectare, less than half the HO2 stated MINIMUM density of 35 dwellings per hectare. At 35 dwellings per hectare there is sufficient space for 41 houses. The Ilkley Neighbourhood Development Plan (regulation draft 14) includes data from the "Let’s Talk About Ilkley" questionnaire survey showing that the people of Ilkley feel that it lacks "starter homes" and "affordable housing". The proposed housing density does not appear to be addressing that demand.
