The site's green corridor is well used, we regularly see Roe deer crossing the site.
Development WOULD damage the Oxenhope Station conservation area which is protected by law.
Development would affect drainage which, via a culvert, provides positively to the ecology/biodiversity of Oxenhope Millennium Green.
Oxenhope already has a deficit of Green & Blue corridors. This site should be recognised as such.
Traffic and parking on Cross Lane is already a concern according to the Oxenhope Neighbourhood Plan.
Mitigating for the above issues (if even possible) would make this an expensive site to develop. It's unlikely to yield any affordable houses or the type of houses identified as needed in the Neighbourhood Plan. The loss of village green space and visual amenity would not produce a decent balancing contribution to housing stock.
Permission to include this site in the plan has not been granted by all the current landowners.
