Draft Bradford District Local Plan - Preferred Options (Regulation 18) February 2021

Respondent: Mrs Lucy Shaw

Representation Summary:

For starters Bradford has plenty of brownfield sites that should be priority for development. The Council has not demonstrated any exceptional circumstances to build on protected Green Belt.
This is a flood-prone area, and this land provides much-needed water absorption. March Cote lane already suffers badly from flooding, and March Cote and the old village (main street) would have this problem exasperated with water forced on to them.
The schools in the immediate vicinity cause severe traffic congestion, and I worry about the air quality for those children attending.
In-fact the local roads and those within the estate would really struggle with all the proposed local developement sites within the local area creating more cars on these roads.
The strain on local amenities, as doctors, dentist and schools are already at capacity.
