Draft Bradford District Local Plan - Preferred Options (Regulation 18) February 2021

Representation ID: 5169

Received: 24/03/2021

Respondent: Mrs Beverley Ambrose

Representation Summary:

I strongly object to the proposed housing development for the following reasons:-
-increase to the existing hazardous traffic congestion, especially at school times. There is only one main way in & out of Cottingley which is already extremely congested. Additional traffic from further housing would cause gridlock congestion. The increased traffic from this & from Lysander Way would also risk the safety of children attending the schools opposite these junctions & create more danger from the increased level of traffic aswel as limited parking which is already a major problem.
- added traffic pollution
-lack of infrastructure - school places, Drs etc
-ground stability and drainage. Heightened flood risk. The current fields soak up the rainwater but we still regularly get flooding from the fields & culverts into gardens, properties & the road on Marchcote Lane which will become worse if developed on.
-loss of valuable greenbelt and wildlife habitat
