Draft Bradford District Local Plan - Preferred Options (Regulation 18) February 2021

Representation ID: 8102

Received: 10/03/2021

Respondent: Stewart Clough

Representation Summary:

•Object to the two proposed green belt sites in Baildon.
•Unclear why brownfield sites are not being used as the further loss of greenbelt is a major impact for the already crowded village.
•The parking, congestion and terrible traffic problems moving out of the village into Bradford and Leeds with be further impacted by the building of even more houses.
•The proposed Stubbings Road development would cut off access to the already limited woodland are which is oasis for the local community.
•The loss of greenbelt and additional problems caused cannot possibly be outweighed by the benefit of cramming in a few more houses in that area. For sure the pricing for the developer will be extremely attractive but return on investment for the community must surely be considered.
•Why can Bradford council not prioritise brownfield sites to meet housing demand before utilising the greenbelt.
