Draft Bradford District Local Plan - Preferred Options (Regulation 18) February 2021

Representation ID: 811

Received: 06/03/2021

Respondent: Mrs pam sharp

Representation Summary:

Cottingley is already a busy place to live. I am all for change and progress but building on Greenbelt is unacceptable. These fields provide absorbent land helping to stem significant surface water run off. Also, there is wildlife here - deer, curlew, lapwing, skylark.
There has already been new housing developments very close to Cottingley which ultimately has a massive impact on the infrastructure therefore, building more houses would exacerbate the issues Cottingley already has, not alleviate them.
More cars on the road = more air pollution, more congestion, more accidents.
More people residing in Cottingley = massive impact on GP/NHS services, available places at our local schools.
I implore you to give this great consideration. Greenbelt became Greenbelt for a reason, it is not right to list the title to suit. There are so many empty homes in Bradford, why not make use of these?
