Draft Bradford District Local Plan - Preferred Options (Regulation 18) February 2021

Representation ID: 873

Received: 07/03/2021

Respondent: Mr Tony Ryder

Representation Summary:

One concern is the ability of existing village infrastructure to absorb the increased population. Some of the year groups in the Primary school are almost full. Cross Lane is used for parking at drop-off and collection times (safer than Hebden Road) and so becomes quite busy.
Parking for the Co-op already creates a traffic bottleneck on the only bus route.
This land provides a wildlife corridor feeding into the Leeming and Bridgehouse Beck corridors along the village waterways.
Parts of the land fall into Flood Zones 2 and 3. It has an open drainage channel that feeds into the millennium green.
Finally, when the importance of green space is being increasingly appreciated for people's wellbeing this infilling of a previously safeguarded green space seems an error.
