OX2/H Cross Lane
This is a Village Green Space and a green corridor in the village. It is adjacent to the Conservation Area and any development would be visible from the South Pennine Moors. There would be a landscape impact from this site being developed.
Part of the site is designated flood zone 2 and 3 which would be unsuitable for development without extensive flood mitigation work. It also has an issue of surface water flooding.
Cross Lane suffers congestion due to its proximity to the Primary school and parked cars.

CO1/H - Marchcote Lane

There has been a hurricane of objections, unfortunately when heavy rain has flooded the Marchcote Lane area, it can seem as if that disaster has already occurred. This is before 150+ houses built on a sloping field exacerbate the situation. The 300+ extra cars making daily journeys will doubtless increase the danger to children attending Cottingley Village Primary School. The B6265 and B6146 are chronically overloaded at school drop off/pick up times - at others merely extremely busy.
The report acknowledges "the site has a major potential for sprawl and would have a major impact on openness…there are no opportunities to create a stronger Green Belt boundary than the existing boundary".

DH1/H - Station Road

Denholme is perhaps the most ill served with infrastructure of all our villages, yet it is to have a further 72 houses DH1/H. The attendant cars will significantly increase traffic already contending with numerous heavy goods vehicles that blight people's lives.

My personal experience of Long Lane, Harden, was the catalyst for getting involved in local politics.
Of the several greenbelt sites proposed to be built HR/1H, HR2/H, HR4/H the one on the western end of the village with 40 houses HR3/H would cause the most problems. There is poor access to public transport, necessitating daily use of 80+ more cars, they would in the main turn right onto B6249 Long Lane heading past the school for Bingley.
There is already congestion and queues on Sundays. On week days there will be tail-backs right out of the village!

Consultation Question 140
Representation ID: 19727
Received: 23/03/2021
Respondent: Bradford District Ward Councillor (Conservative)
Wilsden actually needs construction. Not more houses but employment opportunities.
The 130 more homes envisaged in the plan include WI1/H & WI3/H. Existing sites have been approved for housing, so this refutes the excuse to build on greenbelt at WI2/H. Brownfield sites at Haven Farm, Station Road, Harecroft and Prosepct Mill, Main Street are ideal. This will all inevitably bring 260+ more cars into the equation. Residents already feel the B6144 from Cullingworth and Main Street/Harden Road are similar to race tracks with scarce police resources (not already deployed to Bradford) unable to impact the dangerous situation.
