Vital greenspace that is used frequently by dog walkers and children - as more people work from home permanentaly these spaces will become more and more popular. There are severe pollution, parking and traffic issues in the neighbourhood as things stand - we cannot accommodate more traffic to the are. The streets leading to the area are not suitable and roadworks would only compound the problem.

5.7.33 - there's not enough park/garden space in Shipley. Constraints & Opportunities - Site comprised of large area of existing informal amenity open space in a densely developed area. It's a rare green space in Shipley. It is used by the local population. So, don't build on it. Improve it. Create a park and garden that will provide a valuable community resource for the local population in this densely developed area.

The site offers green open space which is valuable outdoor exercise space and an open aspect with scenic views of the green, and of the countryside and the world heritage site of Saltaire. It is a necessary open space due to the fact that most residences in the vicinity of the green do not have rear gardens and therefore the green is vital for exercise and for children to play outdoors. The residential area is built-up and there has been longstanding valuable access to the green including for social events.
I object strongly to the development as it would result in a detrimental impact on well-being due to loss of accessible green exercise space, social amenity, views, privacy, and possibly loss of light.

There is very limited green space near the Shipley town - The proposed location provides a good location and green space for views over Salts Mill (a site of international importance) A housing development in this area would ruin this view.

This is valued open space used by the whole community. Government and local policies show that recreation open space like this is supposed to be protected.
We will lose the benefits of our community’s local green space.
Children play regularly here and would have nowhere else to play. Many dwellings in the neighbourhood have no gardens and the local parks are a long way away involving main road crossings.
It's used for sport/exercise.
It's used for dog walking.
Green space helps protect us against local air pollution problems.
People travel via the green to work, or to the local nurseries and schools.
We are already an area that has been shown to be deprived of green space.
It was landscaped for recreation in the 1960s and is needed now just the same.
Generations of families have used this space and we need to protect it for future generations

It should not be for housing. That would take away a safe space for recreation which is all visible from neighbouring houses, so safe for children. It would adversetly affect mental well-being and physical health.
It has been used for informal recreation for over 50 years.
It has a historical link to Saltaire and a panoramic view better than some of the protected views, and therefore its loss will be challenged on those grounds.
This area should be maintained as open space, a recreation amenity, as it currently is in the RUDP. Further its protection should be strengthened by being designated as Local Green Space.

Building on this site is a terrible idea. lots of children use this as a recreational site including my own. Its also a great acsess route from Shipley to Saltaire by foot as it is very quiet with hardly any traffic on the side road. Please do not ruin yet another green belt site.

The space is much needed green space, needed for exercise and recreation, a safe place for children to play. The space is used by many to exercise which supports good mental health, this also helps with keeping good air quality in an already densely populated and heavy trafficked area.

Green space is a rare and valuable commodity in an urban area. The development would rob locals of one of its few open and green areas used by people of all ages. If new housing must be developed, better to remove the ugly and space inefficient houses around Wycliffe Gardens.

The green area in this plan is surrounded by housing, some houses with small gardens and other flats with no individual gardens. The land is used by local children to get much needed exercise. It is a valuable resource for the local population that should not be taken away.

Wycliffe Green is special to this community
The proposals contravene existing Council policy on open green space.
There is already a serious deficit of amenity green space in Shipley; this plan exacerbates it
The indication that the site will be have a mix of open space and housing is unacceptable and is also contrary to Council policy
The site provides a negligible contribution to the Shipley target allocation of dwellings, the loss of amenity is out of all proportion to any ‘gain’.

I object to the SH3/H plans as a Wycliffe resident of over 20 years this green space is important to our community. Many properties in this local area are flats with no gardens and this is the only green space nearby for children and adults to use without crossing dangerous roads. I use the space regularly to meet friends and family whether that be a picnic in the summer or sledging in the winter. I have watched my son and his friends use the space over the years to play and know how important it is for our children's mental/physical health to have this outside green space available. It is extremely important we keep the green spaces available for everyone and for future generations. Surely Bradford Council aren't going to cut down our green space when the pandemic has shown the necessity of it for exercise/relaxation and easing loneliness.

I strongly object to this proposal for the following reasons:
- It is designated by the council and a recreational greenspace.
- Loss of valuable green space in a densely populated area where houses/flats typically have no useable outside space of their own.
- Loss of informal leisure amenity which is used year-round by the community.
- Visual impact on Saltaire UNESCO World Heritage site (it is also in the buffer zone).
- There are other, more suitable brownfield and PDL locations in the area (including the site of the former flats on Canal Road which isn't included in the plan)
- Increase in noise, road traffic and air pollution.
- Increased risk of flooding due to hard landscaping and the removal of a natural soakaway
- It is a complex site and steeply sloping meaning the housing yield is low considering the area of land that would be consumed.

My objections to this planned proposal are as follows:
-Negative impacts on the local environment for plants and wildlife. Loss of habitat and food sources for mammals, bird life, moths, butterflies, amphibians and reptiles. Thus negatively impacting BMDC's Biodiversity Policy and Green Infrastructure Corridors.
-New houses mean of flooding downhill/downstream.
-More traffic means harmful rises air and noise pollution to wildlife. Resident's physical and mental health negatively impacted.
-Rise in vehicles means highly polluted roads aggravates asthma, COPD and all respiratory diseases.
-More pressure on already squeezed infrastructures eg school places, doctors, road maintenance, public transport, waste collection.

This area is a highly valued green space - extremely well used by local residents for outdoor exercise and recreation. The people who use this most do not have gardens of their own in the densely urban environment. (You have already stated that we do not have enough open sport/park and garden spaces in this area). Children need space where they can play outdoors, and exercise safely close to their homes.

Shipley is a very busy town with excellent transport links and is a popular residential area. There is a high volume of traffic throughout most of the day on the main roads and increasingly on minor roads despite traffic calming measures. The present Shipley residents NEED, USE and VALUE their green spaces. These are a lifeline to parents and children and all residents who value areas free of traffic to walk and sit. Building new homes will increase traffic and remove valuable clean air zones.

Using this space on a regular basis, I have loved the open feeling of the area. Unfortunately, I *never* see people — families, kids, gatherings of any type — congregating there. It’s always amazed me that the area is under-utilised. I would hate to see buildings on a lovely green site, but, unequivocally, people do not use the area.

This is a valued open space in a very built up area. It is an important recreation area for people in the surrounding flats and local streets which should be maintained.
This area already has a great deal of traffic, not just from vehicles owned by local residents, but from the nearby main roads. More dwellings would attract more traffic, thereby adding to local pollution which I do not feel is acceptable.

This is the only green space in a mass of housing.
The flats have no gardens so children use this as a playground
People come from the nearby houses and flats to walk their dogs, have picnics in the summer, sledging in the winter.
The site slopes heavily.
It has been used for landfill in the past - ground stability
Will spoil the view of Salts Mill for many people.
The infrastructure on Saltaire Rd will be heavily impacted
Traffic volumes will increase
Pollution on Saltaire Rd is among the highest in the country, more dwellings = more cars= more pollution
Insufficient doctors surgeries to support this expansion and NO NHS dentists at all.

This is valued open space used by the whole community and is of particular importance as houses nearby either do not have gardens or just have very small yards. The advantage of this area is that the greenspace is overlooked and close to houses, therefore it is ideal for outdoor play by children.

I object to Wycliffe Gardens SH3/H being proposed for housing.
The Plan notes that this site is a “large area of existing informal amenity open space in a densely developed area.” This is valued open space used by the whole community and is of particular importance as houses nearby either do not have gardens or just have very small yards. The advantage of this area is that the greenspace is overlooked and close to houses, and so is ideal for outdoor play.
Local Authorities have a vital role to play in providing good quality greenspace (Public Health England ‘Improving Access to Greenspace’ 2020). PHE goes onto say, “ Prioritise improving access to greenspace and creating greener communities especially in areas of deprivation or where there is poor or unequal access, as an important part of the wider plan to reduce health inequalities locally.”

Too much traffic already, absolutely brilliant green space which is invaluable to the dense residential housing nearby. Views and lighting would be compromised- 44 dwellings not even worth it.
