All the following will be compromised if site WI/2H is used. This site should be retained as Green belt in favour of another site for necessary housing numbers;
- Access/safety (the primary road is single carriageway and unsuitable for HGVs and even medium traffic )
- Flooding risk (the site, surrounding highways and local properties are subject to flooding now. More imperveous surfaces will make this worse)
- Heritage infringement (non-designated houses are opposite the site and grade II listed within 80 metres)
- Sprawl into local hamlet (destroying the history of the area)
- Equine safety (the region ihouses many large stables . Over 50 horse/riders use the highways daily - building work and more residents will create major safety issues)
- Cemetery serenity (The active Wilsden Cemetery is opposite the build site and buidling and homes will detract from the peace afforded to a place of rest)

We would like to raise an-objection to potential-housing on the greenbelt-land at the junction of Shay-Lane/Crack- Lane.
Impact on house with hertiage aspects such as structural timbers in the loft which came from a ships-mast and is a unique heritage-building which-is listed on the ordnance-survey and all historical-maps.
Please see the-Councils own NPPF-legislation and UDP which are in-place to protect the openness of-the greenbelt-land and heritage-areas.
More-housing on Crack-Lane is totally-unsuitable and would seriously affect the-openness of the green-belt. Crack-Lane itself is totally unsuitable for any-extra dwellings and is-already severely-overused and unsuitable for moderate-traffic.
Impact for those diagnosed-asthmatic who like to live surrounded by cleaner air. Adding housing to this space would seriously affect clean air and physical and mental-health of asthmatic people. Not-to mention the overshadowing, lack-of privacy that would seriously affect neighbouring properties. It would totally destroy the haven of the hamlet of Nook.

The Birkshead area of Wilsden has already seen its fair share of building work. We have had the new Birkshead estate and the Crack Lane estate built over the last 10 years. The roads are already struggling with the amount of traffic and another 40 houses will only make this worse. We have had numerous issues with flooding in this area. The local shops and school are at full capacity as it is without any further building. This proposal will seriously affect the openness of the area for existing residents. The new houses built recently have not been in keeping with the rest of the village and I expect any new development would be the same. Wilsden is already losing its village feel with the amount of building work over the last few years. Please leave the green belt free of development and look to develop brownfield and other sites.

We would like to raise an-objection to potential-housing on the greenbelt-land at the junction of Shay-Lane/Crack- Lane.
Nook House is a heritage-house which was built in 1840 and is located directly opposite the site. It has structural timbers in the loft which came from a ships-mast and is a unique heritage-building which-is listed on the ordnance-survey and all historical-maps.

The very narrow country lanes around and leading to the proposed site on Crack Lane are already subject to more traffic than they can handle. Serious road widening would be necessary to provide acceptable access to this site.
But my fundamental objection is that the tenant farmer has already been banned from using this field for his cattle, which had historically been the case. This is a cynical strategy by the land owner to have the status of this field changed from agricultural in order to, ultimately obtain permission to build houses on it. At a time when the country needs its farmers more than ever it is appalling that a hard working farmer is having his livelihood threatened by such tactics

This part of Wilsden has already been subject to large scale development (80+ homes) since 2013.
Specific Objections:
Shay Lane/Crack Lane would need to be significantly altered as currently narrow lanes. This would alter considerably the character of this part of the village. (It's a well used route for horse riders from adjacent equestrian centres/potential clash with extra traffic).
As noted, the north eastern corner of site (jnc Shay/Crack Lane) is subject to severe water run off from local fields during heavy rain, leading to flooding at this corner.
Rather than use green space, would be preferable to look first at brownfield site nearby (Prospect Mill off Main Street) which could well deliver the right number of homes.

Shay Lane and Crack Lane cannot take any more traffic as they currently struggle with the traffic using them now. There are often ‘stand offs’ with cars meeting going opposite ways and then the traffic backs up. The road is also unsafe for pedestrians with the amount of traffic and the narrowness of the roads.

Proposed building on fields that provide absorbent land to stem significant water run off despite which there is flooding within this area The potential of increased flood water will see further and major impacts on other residential and agricultural properties.
Junction of Crack Lane/Shay Lane is a traffic congestion and accident spot. 40 properties, potential 80 extra cars, on a site with narrow country lanes, already rat-run Wilsden High Street to Haworth Road or Cottingley Moor Road, significant potential for creating accident hot spot. Quarry access also via this road junction. Additional associated increased air pollution - negative impact on health and contradictory to the Councils introduction of Clean Air Zone?
Removal of hedgerows and trees negatively impacting wildlife, increasing loss of already reducing precious British wildlife, Curlew, Sky Lark, Lapwing, without mentioning other mammals and animals losing more natural environment.
Implications for traffic, health, our British wildlife are significant.

Wilsden is one of very few nice areas in Bradford and is being ruined by developers and Bradford council. wilsden will end up looking like bd3 before long. Leave this nice village alone. Cheap affordable housing brings unwanted low life people who dont care about the area.stop ruining green belt land!!!!!

The development next to it has numerous drainage issue which 5 years on are still not resolved. The field is water logged more houses will cause further drainage issues to the other houses the road itself is not suitable.

The site is often heavily flooded and floods the road in front of it, affecting the houses on crack lane opposite, building here can only make things worse.
Both shay lane and crack lane are so skinny, and much of it with no pavement and visibility is really poor for both drivers and pedestrians. Adding more traffic and more footfall to this area will further the problems. The traffic free footpaths through house to avoid the no pavement areas are incredibly muddy, again, more people, more footfall, worsening conditions.
Traffic out of the village on a morning is terrible, queues in eevery direction, especially howarth road down to Sandy lane

WI2/H: further to previous comments on concerns/reasons for objection, it is noted that the consultation mentions the area to the north-east of the plot is prone to surface water flooding.
There is also a natural spring in the south-west corner of the plot with a natural watercourse flowing along the westerly boundary towards Crack Lane. The land along the south-west/west boundary is therefore also waterlogged throughout the year, attracting evident nature and wildlife. At times the flooding has encroached the boundary onto neighbouring properties and we object to building on such an area as it would likely cause further issues.

There is also a natural spring in the south-west corner of plot with a natural watercourse flowing along the westerly boundary towards Crack Lane. 40 dwellings are proposed. The size of properties and therefore the number of residents should be carefully considered. This should considered with respect to pressure on local narrow roads and community schools, transport and facilities.
The present dry stone wall and mature trees should be preserved, and the style and composition of property sensitive to the hillside and local area.
There should be a clear commitment to retaining the fields between the plot and the edge of the village; there is an evident risk of later infill. Alternatively, the plot should in fact abut the village with access(es) being onto Crack Lane; this would encourage social integration into the village community and avoid overt conflict with the existing listed buildings. This would better conserve the rural feel to the top of Crack, and Shay Lanes, and avoid eating into Green Belt land, plus would fall within the existing settlement boundary.

Another green field being lost forever to housing. The site location map you have provided is incorrect. The four fields to the west of W12/H have already been allocated to housing and scores of houses have been build on New Holland Drive and Tempest Close, the map is a misrepresentation of the fact that development has already occurred here. Crack Lane is very narrow and is congested by traffic at many times of the day, often there are minor accidents on this stretch of road, more houses means more cars, more problems.
