Development here would be directly opposite the wild life reserve at Marchup Beck. I have observed Muntjac deer in the proposed development fields over the years. Development here will be a further loss of habitat for wildlife. This proposal will further add to traffic congestion caused by the AD1/H proposal. There are mature trees that would be lost if the development goes ahead adding to habitat loss. the increased traffic with potential safety risks will have a big impact on Moor Lane and Moor Park Drive.

Mature trees ,hedgerows and deciduous woodland make up this important green space within the green/blue infrastructure connecting people and wildlife at this side of the village .
Increased traffic especially if other sites at this end of the village are approved would be of concern

This site is both greenfield and greenbelt and is a long way from any of the facilities in the village meaning an increase in traffic would result from its development with all of the associated impacts of pollution and noise. Once again there is the potential for sprawl and an impact on openness.

1. This land represents an important corridor between Silsden Road, the roundabout and the village.
2. Any building on this plot would require residents to use cars to reach shops, schools and so - it is far too far from local amenities!
3. This site is adjacent our much-used recreation ground and any development would have a detrimental impact to the country feel to this side of the village.
4.Two of the three strips of land shown are owned by Hunterland and the owners have stated categorically that they will not be released for building. It would seem totally impractical to consider the remaining narrow strip of land.

I object for the same reasons as Ad1.
Spoiling shape and character of village
Houses too far away from village amenities causing traffic chaos on Moor Lane and School Lane.
The only possible way to alleviate that would be to join Turner Lane onto the roundabout as exit for cars but of course that is not as lucrative as just shoving in more houses!
It would negatively impact the lovely open park and playground and allotments in this green again at the top of the village.
Drainage and school places concerns. Primary school already has problems taking in all local children. Overall not as bad as AD3/4/5

This development is on the far western edge of Addingham village and will generate additional traffic on Turner Lane, Moor Lane and Moor Park Drive. This will include not only owners cars but also internet shopping deliveries, etc which have increased alarmingly over the last year.
Occupiers will not walk (or cycle) to and from village amenties due to this site being at the top of the hill.
Apart from the adverse environmental impact, consideration must be given to health and safety issues of increased traffic in a residential area with many elderley frail residents and also families with young vulnerable children.
As a property owner close to this develpment I am aware of adverse ground conditions on this site in relation to poor drainage and natural springs which will create problems for adjoining areas.
This development is on valuable green belt land within the bypass.
Insufficient infrastructure in Addingham.

This expansive area is a potentially important habitat and stepping stone in the village's green corridor, especially since it adjoins Marchup Ghyll nature reserve across the road. Development of the site is also likely to have spillover effects on the nature reserve, such as through noise and light pollution as well as increased visitation of the reserve itself. I believe the impacts on the local wildlife will be unacceptably high if the site is developed.

The development is in an area designated as green belt so should not be considered for development until all sites not in protected areas have been fully utilised.
The development is distant from the small number of services and businesses in the village. Bus services are limited and not conveniently close by. All journeys for work, shopping etc will be by therefore be made by car leading to increased pollution and traffic on small residential roads.
The development will add to the urbanisation of the western end of the village and will be visible from a major road access to the village. On its own this will result in a noticeable loss of the attractive rural character of this area. However, it appears to be one of a number of similar developments in this area and together they will have a major negative impact on the local appearance and character.

This is just one of the proposed developments which will result in traffic using Moor Lane for access. The adjacent development has significantly added to the amount of traffic as will another development off Turner Lane which is under construction. The utilities are under increased pressure especially the ancient sewers. There will be increased risk of flooding in the village due to loss of run off. Moor Lane is long and straight leading to speeding problems, the 20 mph advisory speed isn’t enforceable and frequently ignored. Increased traffic is unacceptable

Area currently provides well established habitat for local wildlife in decline such as hedgehogs and barn owls. Demolishing this habitat shows disregard for the respected green spaces enjoyed. Local residents have used this area (especially more recently through Covid) for wellbeing to have access to the countryside. Additional housing would create a much greater flux in traffic which the local in-roads are not set up to support.

This is overdevelopment on green belt. This development along with other proposed developments that will use Moor Lane for access will increase traffic on a residential road with lots of young children by at least 160 vehicles. This is unacceptable. Moor Lane , being long and straight frequently encourages speeding. The utilities especially the ancient sewers will struggle. The risk of flooding further down the road will be increased due to loss of soak off. The area around this field is a rich wildlife habitat and will be put at risk .

The fields belonging to Hunterland are not for sale. Even if they were this site of 3 fields AD7/H with traffic opening on to Silsden Road would be detrimental to the wildlife reservation on the opposite side of the road. Silsden Road is already a dangerous road with many drivers ignoring the current speed restrictions. Additional traffic would also increase the difficulty people have in crossing the road from the bus stop and to get to two of the allotments sites across the road. If the traffic was routed up through Lister’s Field onto Turner Lane then a huge number of cars would be channeled into a narrow road, unsuitable for increased traffic with no exit onto the roundabout forcing cars up and down Moor Lane, already problematic with poor drainage and parked cars and Moor Park Drive which is too narrow and home to many elderly people.

Site is at least a mile uphill from village centre, hence most journeys will be by car. Limited bus service. Consequent increase in noise, pollution & risk of injury/accidents to pedestrians, mainly children.
Can drainage system cope with extra houses or will there be increased flood risk?
Loss of green space.

I would support development on this site for single spaced out dwellings that are environmental. 23 dwellings is too many and takes away from the natural field and play park that is there. It hems in the nature reserve and reduces the likelihood of sustaining wildliffe in these zones. Developing this site and the others along the by-pass boundary significantly impact on the village feel and turn Addingham into a sprawling mass of housing so that it completely loses its' identity. Something that is already impacted upon due to the recent housing developments.

This site is important for its position on the approach to Addingham village. It is part of a 'green wedge' planted with trees and pasture opposite Marchup Beck and the nature reserve. Housing on this approach is totally inappropriate.. Hopefully most of this site is undeliverable for development as the current owners will refuse to sell in their lifetime.. For all the reasons given in my previous submissions the location is not a sustainable one and the council should revisit reassessing AD005 as a suitable alternative which has far less impact on the green belt in an accessible location.

This should remain as green belt land. Its development would be an extension of the western side of the village, detracting from its rural character. The pleasant eastward view from Turner Lane would be lost and wildlife would be adversely affected.

Respondent: Ilkley Clean River Group
Ilkley Clean River Group (ICRG) object to this plan because of the adverse impact the new houses and supporting infrastructure will have on river water quality.
The combined sewage and drainage system is already overwhelmed and these new buildings will directly lead to a degradation in water quality through more unauthorised sewage discharges directly into the river in Ilkley.
The Addingham at Low Mill CSO flows directly into a dry stream which is already a health hazard and the sewage from these additional houses will make that worse.
SuDS mitigation plans for run-off water in neighbouring Ilkley have been shown to be inadequate as there is currently a challenge on the adequacy of these plans at the new Moss & Moor Garden Centre.
Note: the Addingham sewage system runs into the Ilkley sewage system (which is already overwhelmed) so we also object to the plans for new houses in Ilkley.

1) The owner of the majority of this site has indicated that he will not sell his property. The Plan should not include a site not available for development. 2) As green belt, this site should not be built on. It forms part of a green gateway to the village, softening entry into the built-up area of the village down Silsden Road. 3) The site is a mile and 200ft. uphill from the village centre. No one is going to walk or cycle to use village amenities. The site will generate an unacceptable level of additional traffic. In the context of the climate emergency, additional car journeys undermine global sustainability. 4) This site conflicts with the adopted Neighbourhood Plan – with AD1/H, AD2/H and ADF6/H and the new houses in Moor View, Moor Croft and the Timber Yard it will constitute a large estate of houses.

This is green belt and should not be developed in this way. The land is opposite Marchup Wildlife reserve and will have a detrimental effect on the purpose of such a reserve. Muntjac deer have been observed in the fields proposed for development - development will result in loss of habitat. There are a large number of mature trees which would be lost if development occurs. Turner Lane would have to have extensive changes made (widening etc.) which would destroy the nature of the area.

This site contributes to the excess housing allocated to Addingham. It performs an important Green Belt function keeping the entrance to the village along Silsden Road green and open. It is not in a sustainable location, being a long distance from services within the village. Two of the three fields incorporated in this site are confirmed not to be available for development

I object to this proposal on the grounds that its access onto Silsden Road is dangerous. It is too close to the major roundabout at the top. Opposite the site the traffic speed changes up to 40mph. There have been numerous accidents on this road with traffic speeding in both directions. Extra cars from the site would also be hazardous to children and their families accessing the adjacent recreation ground. If traffic were to use an (improved) Turner Lane access there would be an added increase to traffic coming from the other proposed sites above Moor Lane. Moor Park Drive would inevitably be used as a "rat-run" to avoid all the extra traffic using Moor Lane.
