Section 5: Settlement Policies & Site Allocations Comment

5.1 Introduction

5.1.1This section sets out the local plan settlement policies for the district detailing how the local plan is intending to support sustainable development through the allocation of new sites for homes and jobs, while preserving and enhancing the quality of local places and the natural and built environments at the settlement level.

5.1.2The section also sets out the policy for each site allocation, as shown on the policies map, using a site proforma for housing and employment sites under the structure of the settlements as follows:

5.1.3The policies set out in this section should be read with the plan as a whole and in particular with section three (strategic policies), section four (thematic policies) and where relevant the implementation, delivery and monitoring policies under section six.
